This series has always felt like the Catra Show, and so much so that even Hordak never felt like the main villain. And nothing drove that point home more than season five proving once and for all that this series moral line(or lack there of) is REALLY about a Villain Protagonist when the character that increasingly became a MONSTER for FOUR SEASONS still got everything she wanted in the end.    Catra is the poster child for the moral bankruptcy of this series.   I can't buy her ''redemption,'' or her relationship with Adora, because she WENT TO FAR.  Therefore nor can I buy the HYPOCRITICAL mental gymnastics that arise when she is a topic of discussion in the fandom.  For four seasons I watched this character WILLINGLY and GLEEFULLY jump rope with the moral event horizon. Am I supposed to feel sorry for this monster? His arc is atrocious. His redemption was half assed and full of retcon, and instead of tackling that head on we get him sitting on the clock tower with three of his victims. Xion’s actions toward him in particular were disgusting because he was horrendous to her in Days. To then see her and Roxas looking visibly sad at his ''death'', and then to also see them smiling at him on the clock tower was ludicrous. Their whole tragedy in Days was due to Saix. This series writing spends most of its time retconning established lore and characterization. The story of Kingdom Hearts has no lasting mythology, and RULES that govern it, because anything can and WILL be changed. Nomura uses twists for nothing more than for the SAKE of twists existing, and if established lore and characterization has to be torn to pieces to do so then oh well. This way of writing ruins ANY gravitas of a story because literally anything and everything can and WILL get completely undone.
